Product Description
Nashua 357 Premium Grade Duct Tape, which Nashua now calls 357 Premium 13 mil Duct Tape, is the industry standard duct tape professional contractors choose when they need a consistent, trouble-free product. Its polyethylene-coated cloth has high tensile strength, a clean release from the roll that resists delamination, a straight tear and resistance to curling. The thick natural rubber adhesive grips aggressively, even on very rough or dirty surfaces, and conforms to curves and corners. Nashua 357 resists moisture, solvents, chemicals, abrasion and punctures, works indoors and outdoors, has VOC under 1 g/L and can contribute toward satisfying EQ Credit 4.1 under LEED®.
Nashua 357 is used for HVAC and refrigeration, sealing seams and joints in metal air handling systems, asbestos abatement and securing protective clothing, sand and media blasting, flexible duct manufacturing, waterproof repairs, heavy-duty packaging and bundling, seaming poly sheeting and tarps, underlayment, plastering and motorsports. It is water resistant but not made for continuous submersion, and it does not bond well to kraft-faced insulation, where an acrylic foil tape is the better choice. It has no UV inhibitors; black holds up best outdoors. Nashua 357 arrives at our converter in log roll format, so FindTape can offer non-standard widths; these rolls usually ship on plain white cores.
Nashua 357 was featured in four MythBusters duct tape episodes, including the "Duct Tape Hour". It offers close to the strength of Gorilla tape yet is easier to work with, since it is 13 mils thick instead of 17 mils.
